HandiTax - Apply capital gains from a trust to an individual in HandiTax

HandiTax does not know the implications to the beneficiaries; therefore, there is no automatic transfer of Capital Gains Tax from a Trust return to an Individual return at Item 13 Partnerships and Trusts or Item 18 Capital Gains.

At Item 13 for an Individual Return there is a note that capital gains from a trust are to be shown at Item 18.

At Item 18 for an Individual Return there is a note that a Y is required at Label G if there is a capital gain from a trust. The information may be manually or automatically transferred from the CGT schedule.

Transferring amounts from the Capital Gains Tax Worksheet to Capital Gains Schedule and Item 18.
An automatic transfer from the Capital Gains Worksheet to the Capital Gains Schedule requires the Net Capital Gains manual entry section to be completed.

In the Capital Gains Tax schedule, enter a Y to transfer amounts from the Capital Gains Worksheets. The amounts in the Capital Gains Schedule will transfer to item 18, Capital gains.
