If you get an access violation error message when trying to run a transaction report, it may be a result of one or more transactions missing either a date, transaction number or account number, or even a combination of these items. This can occur due to an import from a bank statement, an ASCII file, or another product with invalid entries.

Resolving the access violation error
Locating the transaction that is missing a transaction number, account number or date of entry. This transaction will be causing the error.

Open HandiLedger, then Select your entity.
From the View menu, click Ledger Entries.
Click Find.
Select Account number and click Ok.
Scroll to the top of the ledger entries. If the first transaction contains an account number, go to step 8.
Where the first transaction is missing an account number, click View.
Add the missing details to the transaction, then click Save, Close, and then Yes to post the changes.
Click Find again, then choose Date of entry, then click Ok.
Scroll to the top of the ledger entries page and ensure the first transaction has a date. If the first transaction has no account number, click View.
Add the missing details to the transaction, then click Save, Close, then Yes to post the changes.
Close the Ledger entries window, then rerun your transaction report.
