If you encounter the error Data exceeds maximum length allowed for field AddrLocality when reading company data into HandiRegister, this is usually caused by an international address associated with the company that does not conform to the field length limits within the module.
ASIC no longer performs address truncations or provides 2nd tier support for this issue. To resolve this, you will need to manually edit the downloaded file to remove the overseas address that exceeds the field length limits before importing it into HandiRegister.
đNote: This is a known issue being investigated by the HandiSoft development team. The field length limits in HandiRegister are based on ASIC's EDGE specifications, but some overseas addresses supplied by ASIC exceed those limits. The HandiSoft team is working directly with ASIC to address this.
Maximum field lengths
Use the following maximum field lengths as a reference when editing the downloaded file. Any address fields that exceed these limits will need to be shortened or removed:

Workaround â manually edit the download file
Follow these steps to remove the offending address from the download file before re-importing:
In File Explorer, go to HSoft\Data\Who and open the relevant client folder.
Open the ASIC download file in Notepad.
Locate the entry containing the overseas address that is causing the error and delete that row from the file.
Save the file, then re-import it into HandiRegister.
Manually enter any address details that were removed directly in HandiRegister once the import is complete.
